synopsis

Italy: a marvellous beach, untouched by the passage of time, is the setting for five stories which follow the course of the last century; each dealing with the theme of homosexuality:
- At OUR BEACH (1929) The arrival of an eccentric painter disturbs the peace of a ‘grand-dame’ of theatre, who has chosen the beach to cure her nervous arthritis.
- The slap (1958) A guard dog, a passing train, a vigorous man in search of adventure, each throw light onto the complex relationship between Marta and Francine.
- The fag-hag (1979) The beginning and the end of a friendship between a lonely sixteen year old youth, and an ungainly, overweight, teenage girl being buffeted by the hormonal storms of puberty.
- The death of maria Salva (1993) Following the death of his mother, a transsexual is obliged to resume relations with His sisters Who Have Never Been Able accept the Differences Between Them.
- All in the family (2000) A man who enjoys dressing up is the family of a happy little boy.
